Character Creation
YOU CANNOT ROLEPLAY UNTIL YOUR CHARACTER'S BIOGRAPHY HAS BEEN APPROVED.
1.)
Follow the character template.2.)
Each biography must be separately posted in their own topic.3.)
You cannot have zombie characters. I'm sure there will be someone who will want to but it's not allowed. The zombies are dead. They are mindless creatures that are attracted to light and sound and only have one purpose: to eat. Zombies will
ONLY be played by the administrator(Shae Finley) through the NPC account.
4.)
Do not create unrealistic characters. No wings, horns or extra body parts. No unrealistic hair or eye colors(pastel, neon, blood red etc). No powers of any kind.
5.)
Keep an eye on your new biographies! Staff members review biographies to make sure they are not godmoding and don't break rules. If a staff member recommends you adjust the profile and you do not update it within a month, we will assume you've gone inactive and will move the profile to the Archives.
6.)
One character per account. You may purchase more characters(for a total of three) from the site's shop and you will need to create a new account for each new character.
7.)
Stick with the character you create. Do not decide mid-RP that you hate your character and want him/her to look/act differently. Once your character application has been approved by a staff member, you are stuck with that character. However, there are two ways to gain a new character. First, you can purchase a
Second Character which allows you to create a new character to play along with your first(the first
MUST stay active or the second character will be removed). Second you can buy a
Character Reset which allows you to create a new character to replace the first. Before you post your second character you
MUST kill off the first(this will be done as a sort of mini-RP event. A zombie herd will overrun the place and your character can die during). There will be no making-your-character-leave-alive-in-case-you-want-to-play-them-again-in-the-future deal. Replacing your character is a serious thing and
WILL NOT be reversed. The second part of the acceptance code is:
dead8.)
Update your character's profile and alert the staff to any important adjustments. Once accepted you may not be able to edit your biography so inform an admin or mod and they will make the changes for you.
9.)
Make an effort to be descriptive. Biographies should be detailed and in-depth. A single sentence isn't enough to tell us about a character. Personalities should be at least 100 words and histories should be at least 200 words.
10.)
Do not copy or steal information off of another character's biography for your own. That information is copyright to the person who created them.
11.)
Be realistic and accurate when gearing up your character. As we start out well into the Outbreak you character is allowed to start off with gear. Keep it minimal and necessary(no one will be wandering around with a DVD player or an iPod). Any gear you have must line up with a moment in your character's history.
12.)
Pets are generally restricted. Your character is allowed to have had pets before the Outbreak but it is highly unlikely to have them in the current time frame. Pets like fish, hamsters, mice, snakes or spiders require too much care and too large containers to be kept(most of your time will be spent on the move and you should only carry things necessary for survival). Birds, for the most part, are loud and would draw too much attention(both from zombies and from hostile NPC/player characters). Cats can survive on their own but they like to wander and it is highly unlikely they will follow your character. Dogs and horses are the most likely pets to be kept as they can both be highly useful. Horses can be used to to ride and carry more gear bu they must be cared for. Dogs, which are less likely than horses, can be useful but only if trained well. Loud dogs will be a liability. In short, pets are only allowed with the administrator(Shae Finley)'s permission.
If you have any questions about any of the rule, PM the administrator(Shae Finley).
